Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) 2026

August 20 - August 23

Breckenridge International Festival of Arts 2026

The Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) returns August 20–23, 2026, bringing four days of art, music, theatre, film, and interactive experiences to downtown Breckenridge. Hosted by Breck Create throughout the Arts District Campus and Riverwalk Center, BIFA transforms familiar spaces into creative playgrounds filled with performances, installations, and unexpected discoveries.

Inspired by themes of adventure, creativity, nature, and play, BIFA 2026 invites visitors to step through the looking glass and experience Breckenridge from a fresh perspective. Whether you’re exploring public art, attending a performance, or simply wandering downtown, there’s something around every corner during one of Breckenridge’s most unique summer festivals.

What Is BIFA?

The Breckenridge International Festival of Arts is an annual celebration that blends contemporary art, live music, theatre, film, and immersive experiences throughout downtown Breckenridge.

Unlike traditional arts festivals, BIFA encourages visitors to interact with the artwork, engage with performers, and discover creative experiences in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The festival brings together artists, musicians, filmmakers, and audiences for a long weekend dedicated to imagination and exploration.

As a result, every visit feels different. Some guests spend their time enjoying performances and exhibits, while others explore installations, workshops, and family-friendly activities spread throughout the festival grounds.

Art, Music, Theatre and Film

Interactive Art Experiences

BIFA is known for presenting art that goes beyond gallery walls. Interactive installations, public art displays, and creative exhibits invite visitors to become part of the experience.

Many installations are designed specifically for outdoor settings, allowing guests to discover art while exploring downtown Breckenridge and the surrounding mountain landscape.

Live Music and Performances

Throughout the weekend, audiences can enjoy a variety of musical performances, theatrical productions, and creative collaborations.

From intimate performances to larger outdoor gatherings, BIFA creates opportunities to experience artists in unique and unexpected settings.

Film and Storytelling

Film screenings and multimedia presentations add another layer to the festival experience. These events often explore themes connected to creativity, nature, adventure, and human connection.

Adventure, Creativity, Nature and Play

The 2026 festival embraces the spirit of curiosity and discovery.

Inspired by a “through the looking glass” theme, BIFA encourages guests to explore imaginative worlds where reality bends and creativity flourishes. Visitors may encounter surprising performances, curious characters, playful installations, and artistic experiences that transform ordinary spaces into something extraordinary.

Because of this, no two festival experiences are exactly alike.

Explore Downtown Breckenridge During BIFA

One of the best parts of BIFA is its walkable downtown setting.

Festival venues are located throughout the Arts District Campus, Riverwalk Center, and surrounding areas, making it easy to explore Breckenridge on foot. Guests can move between exhibits, performances, shops, galleries, restaurants, and public gathering spaces throughout the weekend.

In addition, many activities are family-friendly, making BIFA a great event for visitors of all ages.
