The enormous blocks of snow are built in anticipation of the artists arrival so that the blocks have time to settle and compact under their own weight prior to being carved. This allows for a more consistent medium\, giving the sculptors the ability to execute their gravity-defying designs.

Stop by and check out the 16 blank blocks prior to being carved and enjoy music by Hazel Miller. This concert is free and open to the public\, doors are at 7:00pm and the show is from 7:30pm-9:30pm.
