Participants begin in downtown Breckenridge at approximately 9\,600 feet above sea level before racing toward the mountain using either running shoes or bicycles. From there\, competitors transition to uphill skis or splitboards\, climbing their way high into the alpine toward Peak 8 at nearly 13\,000 feet. \nAltogether\, the course covers roughly 10 miles of human-powered travel and nearly 4\,000 feet of elevation gain\, making the Imperial Challenge Breckenridge one of the most demanding — and memorable — spring races in Colorado. \nHowever\, the Imperial Challenge race is about more than just speed. Over the years\, the race has become a true Breckenridge rite of spring\, where locals\, visitors\, and spectators gather to celebrate the changing seasons in the mountains. As the weekend wraps up\, Sunday delivers one final high-alpine sendoff. \nHosted by the Breckenridge Ski Resort\, this free\, public event combines DJ sets with the annual pond skim tradition. As a result\, Peak 8 remains the center of spring action all weekend long. \n\nLive Music at Peaks & Beats Breckenridge – Sunday\nOn Sunday\, Wuki headlines the main stage at 3 PM\, bringing the weekend to a high-energy close. DESCRIPTION:🧼 Deep Clean Days at Kenosha\n\nKenosha Breck will be closed April 27–30 for our annual deep clean. \nOnce a year\, we shut things down completely and give the restaurant a full reset. That means breaking down equipment\, scrubbing every surface\, deep cleaning the kitchen and bar\, and getting into all the spots that don’t get attention during the day-to-day grind. \nFrom the keg cooler to the cook line\, from the walls to the floors\, our team goes all in. It’s not the glamorous side of the business\, but it’s what keeps everything running smoothly — and tasting the way it should. \nWe’ll reopen Friday\, May 1 with regular hours\, cold beers on tap\, and everything back in action. \nThanks for your patience — we’ll see you right after the reset.
