Breckenridge Great Divide Art Festival Returns Labor Day Weekend
The Breckenridge Great Divide Art Festival returns September 5–7, 2026, for three days of nationally recognized fine art. Better yet, it all happens during Labor Day Weekend in the mountains.
Celebrating its 51st year, the Gathering at the Great Divide is the longest-running art festival in Summit County. It’s also the final nationally ranked fine art festival of Breckenridge’s summer season.
The festival takes place at Colorado Mountain College, just north of downtown Breckenridge. Artists from across the country will showcase original work in 13 fine art categories.
Plus, admission and parking are free. The event is family-friendly, and visitors can easily arrive by car, bike or free public transportation.
More Than 50 Years of Art in Breckenridge
There’s a reason the Gathering at the Great Divide has been part of Breckenridge summers for more than half a century.
The festival gives visitors a chance to meet artists and learn about their creative process. Of course, there’s also plenty of original artwork to explore in a relaxed outdoor mountain setting.
Artists travel from Colorado and across the country to showcase their work. Expect paintings, photography, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, glass, wood, mixed media and more.
Unlike browsing a traditional gallery, you can meet the people who created the work. Ask questions about their techniques and inspiration. Then, perhaps you’ll discover a one-of-a-kind piece to take home.
The Final Chapter of Breckenridge’s Summer Art Festival Series
The Breckenridge Great Divide Art Festival puts the finishing touch on a summer filled with fine art.
First, Mountain Art Festivals kicked things off with the 43rd Annual Breckenridge July Art Festival over Independence Day Weekend. Then, the 25th Annual Breckenridge August Art Festival returned in early August.
Finally, the Gathering at the Great Divide closes out the series over Labor Day Weekend. It’s one last chance to meet nationally recognized artists and explore original work in the Colorado mountains.

Free Admission & Family-Friendly Fun
One of our favorite things about Breckenridge’s summer art festivals is how easy they are to enjoy.
Admission to the Great Divide Art Festival is completely free. Parking at Colorado Mountain College is free, too.
Families, couples, locals and visitors can spend an hour browsing. Or, make an afternoon of exploring the artist booths.
The festival is also easy to reach without a car. For example, visitors can ride a bike along the recreation path. You can also take the free bus from town to Colorado Mountain College.
Make It a Labor Day Weekend in Breckenridge
The Great Divide Art Festival is only one piece of a busy Labor Day Weekend in Breckenridge.
